Scott Burns has
been appointed captain
of the Collingwood
Football Club for
season 2008, assuming
the role from the
retired Nathan Buckley
and now joins 2007
Geelong premiership
captain Tom Harley
as former Norwood
players in charge
of their respective
AFL teams. The 33
year old becomes
the 44th captain
of Collingwood and
since moving from
the Redlegs at the
end of 1994 has
played 247 AFL games,
earning a reputation
for being one of
the toughest and
most respected players
in the competition.
Its also been a
busy week off-field
for two of our coaching
staff. Last Wednesday,
Conditioning coach
David Couzner and
his wife Christine
became the proud
parents of Grace
Stephanie, a sister
to Lachlan. Just
hours later Brodie
and Rebecca Atkinson,
also became parents
for the second time,
Molly Kate joining
the family, a sister
to Ned. Parents
and new borns are
all doing well.
The Norwood football
club extends is
congratulations
to Scott, David,
Brodie and families
on their wonderful
news.
