The
Norwood Football
Club Hall of Fame
recognises and enshrines
those Norwood people
who have made outstanding
contributions to
our great club since
its beginning in
1878.
Last year our inaugural
Hall of Fame honoured
35 Norwood stalwarts
players,
coaches, administrators,
honorary officials
and volunteers.
All are now officially
club heroes forever.
That is the ultimate
honour.
Back then, the Hall
of Fame selectors
agreed that to be
truly representative
of our long and
proud history, the
inaugural 35 should
be chosen from each
of the clubs
eras.
Across almost 130
years, that meant
some impossible
decisions had to
be made.
However, the Hall
of Fames Charter
allows, each year,
for up to five Norwood
people to be acknowledged
with the ultimate
honour.
Under the Charter,
this will continue
until the selectors
are satisfied that
the Hall of Fames
membership is truly
representative of
all those who have
served Norwood with
distinction.
No matter which
category or era,
or in what order,
every new Hall of
Fame member has
equal status with
all others.
In 2007, our first
five new members
are Lionel Hill,
Bill McCallum, Albert
Pongo
Sawley, Sam Gallagher
and Glen Rosser.
The Hall of Fame
exists also to inspire
future generations
to build on our
clubs past
successes, and in
doing so preserve
Norwoods pre-eminent
status in the SANFL
and in Australian
football.
By virtue of their
unique talents,
our five new Hall
of Fame members
have contributed
greatly to that
pre eminence. Like
the inaugural Hall
of Fame members
in 2006, Lionel
Hill, Bill McCallum,
Pongo Sawley, Sam
Gallagher and Glen
Rosser are now officially
club heroes forever.
And at Norwood,
that is the ultimate
honour.

Chairman, on behalf
of the Norwood Football
Club Hall of Fame
Committee 25 August,
