Glen
Rosser is in an
elite group. As
a longtime Norwood
player who served
his club for a long
time after he finished
playing, he rates
up there with Woods,
Wadham, McCallum,
Potts, Johnson and
Miller. Black
Duck, as he
has been known since
his Carmel Court
country boy days,
was a prolific kick-getter
on the wing who
delivered with length
and accuracy. Glen
was the go-to
man for Norwoods
change in direction
play well before
the word was invented,
and long before
AFL clubs claimed
they came up with
the idea. When injury
stopped him short,
he went straight
to work in areas
where he could be
of most benefit
to Norwood. An acknowledged
very good judge
of a player, Glen
coached the young
1985 reserves premiership
side, and was a
shrewd selector.
Through the 1990s
when he was the
management mainstay
at the Parade, that
eye for talent was
a guiding influence.
A natural team man
and funnyman, Glen
always had a strong
rapport with his
coaches and players
which placed him
at the heart of
Norwoods 1997
premiership. With
a great love of
the game all his
life, Glen now devotes
his wealth of experience
to football and
footballers in general,
at the SANFL.
