Injury has forced
three (3) changes
for Sunday's knock-out
first semi final
with Sturt at Adelaide
Oval from 12:10pm.
Aaron Kite suffered
a knock to his troublesome
shoulder last week
and has subsequently
been ruled out of
the remainder of
our finals campaign
by the Adelaide
Football Club. Nick
Duigan slightly
strained his hamstring
last week and is
will likely miss
two (2) weeks while
time has worked
against midfielder
Ben Speight's determined
efforts to fully
recover from the
ankle injury that
kept him out of
our last minor round
game against Glenelg.
Ben bravely played
through the Elimination
final however has
been advised by
club doctors to
miss this week to
enable a complete
recovery.
As a result senior
Coach Trevor Hill
has added Kenrick
Tyrrell, Joel Coombes,
Luke Nitschke, Ed
McDonnell and Ziggie
Alwan to last weeks
team of available
players in a squad
of 23 that will
be finalised following
training at Coopers
Stadium on Friday
at 5.30pm.
The Redlegs face
a Sturt smarting
from their 3 point
Qualifying final
loss to Central
District after looking
the better side
and leading for
much of the game.
With some 14 players
who have played
league football
this year unavailable
the Redlegs might
be under strength
personnel wise in
comparison to the
Double Blues but
with men of the
calibre of James
Gallagher, Brett
Zorzi, Tim Weatherald
and Matthew Dawes
leading from the
front along with
young tyro's Taylor
Walker, Paul Puopolo,
Josh Donohue and
Brendan Littler
the Redlegs have
an irresistible
spirit, self-belief
and determination
that can take us
further in our 2008
campaign.
