Season 2010 Update
31 January 2010

It is very disappointing to announce that two of our most senior players in Jamie Vlatko & Nick Jackman will not be part of our 2010 campaign.

Jamie has decided to retire from SANFL football after being offered a good working opportunity in Sydney.  Jamie has been offered opportunities interstate previously but has opted to remain in Adelaide due to his football but he feels that the time is now right to begin a new chapter in his life.  Jamie has played 109 senior SANFL games & kicked 191 goals predominantly as a full forward after beginning his career with the bays in season 2005.

Nick’s circumstances are a little different as he has succumbed to a persisting back injury that has been plaguing him for most of the pre-season period.  Nick has not officially retired and will play a waiting game to see how his back responds with some rest & treatment over the next few months with a view of maybe returning in season 2011.

Nick began his career at South Adelaide and has often been asked to take on the responsibility of stopping opponents a lot bigger than him. Nick has played 109 senior SANFL games & kicked 15 Goals.

Both Nick & Jamie have represented the Norwood football club with great honor & distinction and we thank them for their fine contributions.

In other news - 1997 premiership wingman James Thiessen will return to the club as an assistant coach at reserves level working with his former Crows teammate Bryan Beinke.  James who recently returned from Queensland said that he is really excited about the direction in which the club is heading and can’t wait to contribute in the development of some of the young talented players we have on our list.
