The Norwood Football Club would like to announce that Scott Borlace has advised the playing group and the club that he has decided to retire. As one of the club’s finest players he has unfortunately succumb to the consistent and debilitating knee injury that he has endured over the last three years.
Many would be well aware how hard Scott has battled to play for Norwood again since first having to stand out of the game. He did this one last time in league game number 177 for the club against North Adelaide in Round 21 last year.
A highly decorated member of this club Scott has made a significant contribution to Norwood. As part of the club’s metropolitan zone Scott came from the Modbury Football Club and won the 1997 SANFL U19 McCallum Medal and then played his first league game in 1998 against South Adelaide at Adelaide Oval in round 15. He went on to win the Club Champion Award in 2004 and 2006 and he Captained the South Australian State League Team in 2006 having won the Fos Williams Medal the year before.
The board, staff, coaches and players appreciate this contribution and congratulate him on an outstanding playing career.
However, Scott will continue this contribution at Norwood as an assistant coach to Nathan Bassett filling the position that has unfortunately been made vacant by Jarrod Cotton. Due to recent additional work commitments and opportunities Jarrod has been forced to stand down from his role in the coaches box. The club thanks Jarrod for the work that he has performed especially when filling in as League Coach in the second half of last season. We are confident that there will be plenty of other coaching opportunities for Jarrod in the future.
We again congratulate Scott on his playing career and look forward to him working at the club in future.
