We the Norwood Football Club have promised a lot in the last few seasons, only to deliver very little when it mattered.
At the beginning of the 2010 season our new senior coach Nathan Bassett stood in front of many of our players, administrators, sponsors, members, supporters & barrackers to talk about what was to become his tenure as the Norwood senior coach.
Nathan didn’t predict that we would win 6, 8, 10 or even 12 games in his first season. He didn’t try and sell that we would play finals football or that we would quickly dominate this competition.
What Nathan did say is – “We have a plan & we will get better”.
It’s been about eight months since Nathan relayed those words and there is no doubt we have gotten better & many of our plans are beginning to take shape as we strive to become the best we can possibly be.
We go into Sunday’s Grand Final against Centrals with the inclusion of small forward Josh Donohue who has recovered from quad injury, Toby Schulz & Luke Nitschke also come into the squad of 23 that will be reduced to 21 after training on Friday evening.
Young 17 year old Mitchell Grigg is currently the only unlucky player to be omitted from the team that beat the Eagles in the Preliminary final last Sunday.
The week has been exciting but very calm for all involved within the football club.
The playing group realise they have an opportunity to make their own history & they look forward to seeing and hearing you all at the game.
Go the spirit!
Go the Leggies!
